After the initial inception of the ‘Grafik Identity’ wordmark you see top left, there was of course a requirement for a super duper logo to sit with it, and the need for a profile image to support the @grafikidentity Instagram account.
There several initial iterations created, although the mark above was already firmly rooted as a concept in my head.
The version you see above were all based around the initials ‘G’ and ‘I’, with the final mark reflecting how I envisioned the design to look from the start.
So, although I had in effect already made up my mind as to how the logo would finally appear, I decided that I needed to explore alternatives to ensure I was on the right path.
The end result has what I consider a simplistic timeless design aesthetic, without the signs of following a specific trend or style of the times.
This is part of my personal design principle of, ‘trying to keep it simple’.
